Weddings at blue: Antonia and Chris
It’s no secret that 2020 has been a tough year. Amidst the pandemic and event restrictions, many of our would-be brides and grooms have postponed their wedding celebrations. But with the addition of our outdoor tent event space, we have been able to help couples like Antonia and Chris host safe and intimate celebrations outside. The newlyweds talked with us about navigating wedding planning during COVID-19, and hosting with a worry-free outdoor wedding here at blue!
What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
My favorite part of planning our wedding was when we met Gina, the director of sales and events. Wedding planning is a very stressful process, which for us was further complicated by current events. Meeting Gina was like sunshine on a cloudy day! She is so professional, knowledgeable, conscientious, caring, and compassionate. Her confidence in Blue’s ability to smoothly host my wedding and take care of every detail along the way was so comforting and reassuring. Blue was quick to respond to the changing needs of its customers and had a strong plan immediately in place. My husband says his favorite part was seeing how happy and relieved I felt after meeting with them for the first time. I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything from that point on concerning the reception at Blue!
Why did you choose blue as your wedding venue?
We chose Blue for our wedding venue because we had wonderful experiences attending and hosting events at Blue before. The gourmet dining services, elegant ambience, and convenient location were all reasons why we selected Blue. Blue is very close to my home and our church, and we pass by nearly every day, so it was very comfortable for us to be in our hometown. What really convinced us that Blue was the best place for us to have our wedding was our interactions with Gina, Kaitlin, and the events team. Their expertise and sincere desire for us to have a wonderful wedding was evident throughout the whole process.
What did your guests say they enjoyed most about your wedding?
Our guests were extremely pleased with the delicious food and wonderful service! The cocktail hour display was beautiful and the hors d’oeuvres were tasty and delightful. The main course entrees were absolutely perfect. You often hear that the bride and groom don’t eat at their wedding. Well, both of us finished our entire plates because the food was so amazing!
What is your favorite memory looking back on your wedding day?
My favorite part was finally being able to marry the love of my life. We had been dating for years, and when we finally were ready to get married, the world seemed to turn upside down and we really didn’t think we’d be able to have our wedding – or at least not one that would look the way we dreamed. Blue was able to fulfill our expectations for our wedding reception despite the present challenges. It was so magical to see how all of my ideas were flawlessly fulfilled by the decorating team. We had delivered boxes of decorations two days before, and just seeing what I imagined magically be put into place for the reception was a dream come true. Also, the first dance and parent dances were really special moments for us!
We can’t emphasize enough how caring Gina and Kaitlin were. They were so compassionate when listening to us share about how apprehensive we felt about having our wedding amidst the craziness we were experiencing. They showed that they truly cared that we had the wedding that we wanted to have and were ready to do whatever it took to provide us with the best wedding possible. The apprehension we felt disappeared; we knew we were trusting the right venue to host our wedding!
Congratulations once again to Antonia and Chris on finding so much love and joy in this crazy year!
